Okay, so at the start of this Blog series I said that I was going to post a blog every night during the week but unfortunately the last two days I haven't had the time to commit to this. Friday night I would have posted about day 5 of the program but because of skipping a few of the meals a couple of days during the week I didn't really have much to talk about food wise until the dinner of that night. I was also working on Friday night until 9pm which meant that I didn't get to eat my dinner until I got home at around quarter past nine, understandably so by this time I was not in the mood to be writing a blog and rather hang out at home with Chae by my side.
Feeling quite good today, another early start to the morning back at college. Was a little bit hard to get up but hey, who else doesn't really feel like waking up when it is quarter to six in the morning. IT AIN'T CUTE!
As some readers know I have mild bursitis in my right knee, because of this, I experience a sharp pain in my knee every now and then. A main benefit of the Paleo diet is that it doesn't include inflammatory foods, this means no grains. If I am being honest even though the weather is hot and humid in the evenings I haven't been experiencing as much pain in my knee as usual, meaning that eating anti-inflammatory foods is starting to work its magic. Back again, what do ya know people are reading this. I was greeted this morning with a lovely message on my Facebook from a friend saying that they liked my page and was reading my blog. It's great to hear so feedback so if you have anything to say about my blogs, what you like, what you didn't like please do please drop a message to my page here.
All day yesterday Chae was telling me that he was feeling nauseous throughout the last two days, I told him that it was his body getting used to eating three meals a day after skipping breakfast every morning and sometimes not even eating lunch. This morning Chae went to weigh himself and said that he had already lost 5kg in just two days, I can't really say if this is because of the nausea or because of the diet starting to work. We will see what happens in another two days, as far as I know Chae hasn't been feeling the nausea today although I must say this morning I was starting to feel a little nauseous although I think that was because of this mornings breakfast. welcome to Days 1 & 2 of my Paleo challenge. I you are reading this it means that you weren't completely bored of yesterday's post so thank you for dealing with my daily posts for the next 29 days.
I know it will be a while until I start feeling differences in my health and wellbeing so it may take a couple more posts until my blogs start getting interesting. So because most nights I won't be able to make a full post until later at night I thought it would be easier to split it up therefore tonight's post is on today's breakfast and lunch and tomorrow's post will be on tonight's dinner and tomorrow's lunch and dinner. Without further ado, here is my blog for today.
Today for me was also the first day back at study for the year which makes for a great fresh new start. A while back I was reading the book The Paleo Solution written by Robb Wolf. A great read indeed and I really wanted to start the 30 Day Paleo challenge that was outlined in the book. When I was thinking about starting the challenge I had a lot of things happening and I never found the time to actually get into it. Maybe I was procrastinating or maybe I was scared about starting a new diet but I just couldn't do it.
A couple of weeks ago my partner Chae asked me if we could try Lite n'Easy (LnE), to say I was shocked that he had asked me was an understatement. Only this time last year when our own housemate had started on LnE did he say that it was too expensive for a couple to do LnE and so we never thought on the subject again until now. It was this time that I reminded him of what he had said a year before now. A couple of days ago while looking on his laptop for new TV show episodes to download I spotted a little bookmark at the top of the browser titled "Paleo Restart", of course I had a little spy on what this Paleo Restart was. |
